Our Lady of Fátima is the title given to the Virgin Mary as she appeared before three shepherd children near the village of Fátima, Portugal, on May 13, 1917. She identified herself as the Lady of the Rosary and told the children to not be afraid. Additionally, she encouraged them to pray their Rosaries for peace and an end to the war. Mary helps us meditate the Gospel through the Rosary. Our prayer of the Holy Rosary each day helps us know and follow Jesus through the eyes of His Mother.

We hope to encourage families to pray together more regularly — and specifically to pray the Rosary. This devotion has been very well received among parishioners at many Churches within the Diocese. When we pray the Rosary, we do not pray to the Blessed Mother, we pray with the Mother to the Father.

We are blessed to announce that our parish now has a second Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, providing more families the opportunity to host and experience this sacred tradition each week. For those interested in this beautiful devotion and to schedule your time with the statue, please see the reservation books available at the Mass Ministry Coordinator's table in the vestibule.

The statue can be picked up on Sundays in the Marian Gift Shop during the gift shop hours (9:00 AM until 1:30 PM) and then returned to the gift shop the following Saturday between 9:15 AM and 12:30 PM.

When you are hosting the statue, please be sure to find a prominent place in your home to place it so that you and your family can daily be reminded of Our Lady’s message of hope, peace, and salvation.

Should you have any questions, please contact parishioner Mary Beth Kopala at [email protected] or call the Parish Office at 614-882-2109.
