Donate to Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund

As a member of our parish family, you understand the importance of spreading the Good News of the Gospel and passing our faith on to our youth. Thanks to a law passed by the Ohio legislature in 2021, you can now redirect your Ohio tax dollars to support Catholic education, making it more accessible and affordable to all families.

Ohio taxpayers who make a gift to a certified scholarship granting organization (SGO) can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit up to $750 for individuals and up to $1,500 for married couples filing jointly, reducing your state income tax liability.  Essentially, you can take what you would have owed in Ohio tax and shift it to the Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund, the Diocese of Columbus’ very own SGO.

The Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund creates much needed scholarship dollars for the schools in our diocese while giving you the power to direct your tax dollars to support our efforts to lead children to an encounter with Jesus. You can even direct your gift to provide scholarships to Saint Paul School, however you cannot designate a specific student.

We ask you to please consider making a meaningful and impactful gift to the Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund today. The process is simple. Learn more about the fund and make your gift online at emmausroadscholarship.org.

The Diocesan Education Corporation (dba Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund) is a scholarship granting organization, certified by the Ohio State Attorney General.

Please consult your tax professional when making decisions that impact your tax liability.

How Does It Work?

  • Donors who make a gift to the Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund can receive a dollar-for dollar reduction of their Ohio tax liability upon filing next year (equal to the amount of the gift up to $750 or $1,500 if married and filing jointly).
  • Anyone can make a gift! Parents, grandparents, alumni, friends – anyone with a heart for making Catholic education accessible and affordable for all. Only Ohio residents will receive the tax credit, but out-of-state residents have the potential to realize a Federal tax savings for their contribution.
  • No gift is too large or too small, but the Ohio tax credit is limited to $750 for an individual and $1,500 if married and filing jointly
  • Your gift can be directed to Saint Paul School or any diocesan school(s) OR you can make a gift to the general (unrestricted) fund to help the greatest number of students in the diocese, starting with low-income families.
