About this Event

For the Sake of His Sorrowful Passion

The message of Divine Mercy is simple. God loves us - all of us. He wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins. We call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. Thus, all will come to share His joy!

All are welcome to join us for the Divine Mercy Celebration on Sunday, April 7 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Westerville.

Divine Mercy Novena

The Divine Mercy Novena will be prayed at St. Paul each day leading up to Divine Mercy Sunday.

Day 1 - March 29 (Good Friday)

  • Universal Intention: For all mankind, especially sinners, to be immersed in the ocean of our Lord’s mercy.
  • St. Paul Intention: For all souls affected by illness, injury or disease, and for those who have died. For those parishioners who serve others as doctors, nurses, medical support, and first responders.

Day 2 - March 30 - (Holy Saturday)

  • Universal Intention: For the souls of all priests and religious, that they would be immersed in the unfathomable mercy of Jesus.
  • St. Paul Parish Intention: For our pastor, Fr. Wilson, and our Parochial Vicars, Fr. Olvera, Fr. Gwinner, and Fr. Antony Varghese. For all deacons, seminarians, and the Daughters of Holy Mary of the Heart of Jesus who support our parish and school.

Day 3 - March 31 - (Easter Sunday)

  • Universal Intention: For all devout and faithful souls, that they would be immersed in the ocean of mercy of Our Lord.
  • St. Paul Parish Intention: For all families and members of our St. Paul Parish community,  all ministries that support and provide assistance to the single, married, and widowed in our parish.

Day 4 - April 1

  • Universal Intention:  For those who do not believe in God and for those who do not yet know Jesus, that they be immersed in the ocean of Our Lord’s mercy. 
  • St. Paul Parish Intention: For all men and women of our St. Paul community, and for all men’s and women’s ministries that serve, support, and provide assistance to parishioners.

Day 5 - April 2

  • Universal Intention: For those souls who have separated themselves from the Catholic Church, that they would be immersed in the ocean of Christ’s mercy and return to the Church.
  • St. Paul Parish Intention: For all outreach ministries and parish members who serve, promote, and extend the mercy of God to everyone within our parish.

Day 6 - April 3

  • Universal Intention: For the meek and humble souls of the little children, that they would be immersed in the ocean of Our Lord’s mercy.
  • St. Paul Parish Intention: For all teachers, staff, administration, students, and families in St. Paul School, PSR program, and youth ministries in our parish.

Day 7 - April 4

  • Universal Intention: For the souls who venerate my mercy and glorify Divine Mercy, that they may be immersed in the mercy of God.
  • St. Paul Parish Intention: For all staff at St. Paul Parish, all liturgical and prayer ministries, and parishioners, and prayer groups at St. Paul Parish.

Day 8 - April 5

  • Universal Intention: For all souls who are detained in purgatory, that they would be immersed in the abyss of Our Lord’s mercy.
  • St. Paul Parish Intention:  For all souls from our St. Paul Parish community who have passed on to eternal life. May they rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon them.

Day 9 - April 6

  • Universal Intention: For all souls who have become lukewarm, that they may  be immersed in the mercy of God. 
  • St. Paul Parish Intention: For the continued renewal of our parish, and continued growth in our mission to be “Inspired by St. Paul, Centered on Christ, and Called to Holiness.”
