Lord Christ Jesus Christ, we are happy to be with you this evening. Thank you for being with us in the Eucharist here and in all the churches all over the world.

Dear brothers and sisters and greetings to everyone watching on the livestream video. In the presence of Jesus, we reflect how we are lucky. It is a joyful mystery that we live because of the holy Eucharist and to underline what is written in the Bible, what is in the original language to help us to understand even deeper the Eucharist.

So let us focus on two biblical words and on two eucharistic miracles that will help us to understand even more how lucky we are and how much Jesus Christ loves us to go deeper.

Let us first look on towards in the gospel of John chapter six that we have heard. As we know, this gospel was written in Greek, so let us consider the original words.

The first word in Greek is sarx. What does it mean in the gospel of John, when the evangelist speaks about Eucharist in chapter six, he uses two words. One is sarx, which means literally flesh, and the other one is soma, Which Means body.

It is very powerful when we go into the original language of the Bible and see which words were used in the gospel in Greek in the gospel that we have heard what is inside.

So in the gospel, Johns in the gospel of John chapter six, we read everyone, anyone who eats this bread will live forever and the bread that I shall give is my flesh.

And in the Greek is used the word sharks, which means literally flesh for the life of the world. Then the Jews started arguing among themselves, how can this man give us his again, sarx which means flesh, the word used is not soma body but sarx.

To underline that this is flesh, Jesus replied to them. In all truth, I tell you, if you do not eat the flesh, flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you and he continues.

Anyone who does eat my flesh, again sarx, flesh and drink, my blood has eternal life and I shall raise that person up on the last day for my flesh again.

Sarx is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh sharks and drinks my body, my blood and drinks, my blood lives in me and I live in that person.

Sometimes in the Bible translations it is softened. They don't use the word flesh, they use the word body, but Jesus actually said six times in such a short passage he used, he used the word sarx, which means flesh.

Why is it so? Why Jesus wanted to use these words, why the evangelists’ inspired text uses the word flesh, sarx and not just body soma. In this way, the evangelist points out the importance of eating Christ's body and he deliberately emphasizes the reality of the physical body, not symbol, physical body.

And the gospel of John chapter six, for all Christians all over the world is very important. It is one of the most studied passages in the Bible. Can you imagine that in the biblical scholarship, there are about more than 80 proposals of the structure of John six.

It is one of the most studied passages of the Bible ever and most powerful that Jesus tells us, this is my flesh, this is what is written in the original Greek.

Even when we listen during the mass, this is my body. If we would have this text in the original language, we go to the gospel of John chapter six, it would be this is my flesh.

So no one has doubts, it is not a sign, it is not a symbol of his presence among us, but this is physical body and I tell you, I am priest almost more than 20 years.

I am always impressed by Jesus' humility Because at every mass he does this miracle and without trumpets, without all sorts of no. But because he wants to be with us, he wants to come to our hearts.

Yet, it's not easy. And actually the evangelist says after hearing the hearing it, many of his followers said, this is intolerable language. How could anyone accept it after this? Many of his disciples went away and no longer accompanied him.

But we have to be honest, and we have, we have to know as a biblical scholar from Poland wrote very powerful words. Departure from the Eucharist is always departure from Christ and being close to the Eucharist means to be close to Jesus Christ.

And then it is very powerful When we receive the holy communion, we hear “The Body of Christ”, which literally as it is written in Greek and wanted by Jesus, it means the flesh of Christ, the body of Christ, the flesh of Christ, very powerful.

But this is what we find in the gospel of John. This is what we find in the original language. And now the second word of the gospel, the word trógó in Greek, what does it mean? We often translate this as to eat.

However, the word trógó in Greek literally means to munch, to chew the food, to to gobble, to eat loudly and with delight, the verb meaning to eat is as he, but the evangelist alternatively uses a tio to eat and tro to chew and let's see which word is under the English word? So which is the original? Where is the original trógó to chew? Jesus replied to them.

In all truth, I tell you, if you do not eat a still the flesh, You Know sharks of the son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Anyone who does eat and in the original Greek is written trógó.

So we can translate literally anyone who does chew my flesh against sarx, against sarx and drink. My blood has eternal life and I shall raise that person up on the last day.

For my flesh against sarx is real food and my drink is real drink and whoever eats in English, we have eats. But in Greek we have trógó, which means whoever choose my flesh, sars and drinks, my blood lives in me and I live in that person.

Why is the word to chew trógó used here in the gospel? Probably not to say that we have to chew the body of Christ, but once again it is a deliberate emphasis on the physical reality of eating Christ's body.

Even more. The word used is flesh physical reality. In this way, the idea of eating physically or chewing Jesus' body culminates in John 6, 57 with the promise of eternal life.

As we know, chapter six of the gospel of John contains one of the most important teaching about the body of Christ. It brings us to another level of our faith.

At this new level, we realize that the body of Christ becomes our body through holy communion. This is amazing. The body of God. The body of Christ becomes our body thanks to the holy communion, it is truly a mystical experience.

God loves us so much now Jesus helps us to believe that it is not a symbol. It is truly himself present in the Eucharist and he strengthens our faith by the eucharistic miracles and phenomenon.

The first such phenomenon took place in the eighth century in Lanciano Italy. Until now, the church has recognized more than 130 such cases as authentic.

The latest one is in Sokolka in Poland and it happened in 2008 and Legnica in 2013. Both places are in Poland. It happens that I know these places quite well. And I would like to share with you. They are the latest Eucharistic phenomena, or some people say, miracles nowadays in the history of the Catholic church.

The miracle in Sokulka happened on October 12th, 2008 at the Church of Saint Anton of Padua at Mass that began at 8:30 AM. A young priest, father Filip Zdrodowski, concelebrated this Mass and he told me what happened.

First, this was the Liturgy of the Word, and that day and at that Mass at the Liturgy of the Word was the Parable of the Wedding Feast. Jesus again in reply, spoke to them in parable saying the kingdom of heaven may be linked to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son. And the first reading on this day was from the book of Isaiah about the Messianic Feast.

The Lord of hosts will prepare a feast for all the peoples on this mountain. And this is the prophecy in the Old Testament because on this mountain means the mountain of Zion, and Jesus Christ instituted Eucharist exactly on this mountain in the upper room.

So, the prophecy was fulfilled by Jesus. What happened? During this mass, holy communion was distributed. One of the priests who helped was Father Yatsik.

He's a young priest. At that time he had only four years of priestly experience. Suddenly he felt someone poking him in the leg. He turned in that direct direction. One of the kneeling women drew his attention to the host laying on the red carpet on the step. Father Yatsik gasped. This had never happened to him before, and now he didn't even notice when that consecrated host fell out of his hands.

He picked it up reverently but did not consume, did not consume it as it usually done in such cases. Nor did he place it in the chalice recognizing that it was on the soil.

He put it in the a small silver water vessel used by priest to wash the fingers after giving holy communion. You have it here close to the tabernacle.

Maybe you cannot see it because it is in glass and water. This glass and water. After mass ended, Sister Julia Dubowska took the vessel with the host and carefully moved it to the sacristy. Sister Julia transferred the contents of the vessel to another vessel which she locked in a safe place.

Chalices and liturgical equipment were stored there. Only she and the parish priest, Father  Stanislaw Gniedziejko had the keys. It was expected that the host would dissolve.

However, this did not happen. A week later, on World Mission Day, there were a great many people hanging around in the sacristy, priests altar servers, and the faithful.

Between 8 and 8:15, sister Julia opened the safe place and suddenly smelled fresh bread. She looked into the vessel and was stunned. The host was already partially dissolved but more or less, in its center was something resembling living blood. Living blood. Same strange red clot. She was amazed. What is this? Is it blood? Is it not blood?

“I stood like a pillar of salt,” recalled the sister and she informed the pastor.

Interestingly, sister Julia is a nun from the congregation of the Servants of Jesus in the Eucharist. Their particular charism means to serve Jesus in the Eucharist and to spread reverence for the Blessed Sacrament.

Father Pastor Stanislaw Gniedziejko had never seen such a thing. “It surprised and shocked us all. It surprised and shocked us all,” he recounted.

The communion was already dissolved for the most part, only a particle of consecrated host remained united with this substance that had appeared on it.

It was also unusual that the water around this red substance did not become colored at all. It so happened that the metropolitan Archbishop of Bialystok, Edward Ozorowski was soon arriving to at this parish.

The archbishop came to Sokolka with the chancellor of the Curia and the priests. The priests who looked at the host were amazed advised. They advised to wait for further developments watching what would happen.

On October 20th, 2008, a few days after it happened, the vessel with the host was moved to the rectory chapel and placed in the tabernacle. A day later, on the archbishop's instructions, the parish priest carefully placed the host with the red blood like substance inside on the white corporal.

In time the message blended into the corporal and nothing that new happened. It’s appearance has not changed to this day. The substance naturally dried, retained its normal color.

“When we first saw it, it was so vivid as if it were some flesh. So vivid. Tissue with blood circulating,” said the parish priest. When the strange reddish-brown substance ceased to undergo further transformations, it was decided it was time to take further actions.

The most important work was done by experienced pathologist from the Medical University of Bialystok, Dr. Maria Sobaniec-Lotowska and Professor Stanislaw Sulkowski, scientists well known nationally and internationally for more than 30 years in the field of histopathological diagnosis. They're authors of many scientific papers.

In a summary of the conducted expertise, the researchers unanimously wrote in the evaluation by two independent pathologists, the material sent indicates cardiac muscles, tissue, cardiac muscle tissue.

The analyzed material in its entirety represents this tissue, cardiac muscle tissue. I spoke with the professor Sobaniec-Lotowska and she told me, Father, I can go to the prison, I can be whatever, people can do, but I am sure, I have no doubt that it is a heart muscle. There is nothing to ponder at all. Heart muscle. Sokolka was called a eucharistic phenomenon. The Eucharistic phenomena was recognized at the diocesan level.

The parish meticulously collected testimonies of graces received and research confirmations of medically unexplained healings. In October, 2011, the particle of the body of the Lord was shown to the faithful, and since then together with the blessed sacrament, it has been made available for daily adoration.

This eucharistic phenomenon strengthened faith of so many people. And I had the chance to speak with Father Filip Zdrodowski  who consolidated that mass and he underlined that it was a regular mass. Nobody would think such a thing would happen. It points out again that such things happen at every Mass. This miracle happened also in your church today at the Holy Mass and will happen tomorrow.

And we are so lucky that we have real presence of Jesus Christ. And he gives us this sign, these miracles that confirms what is written in the Bible. “This is my body, this is my flesh.”

So the two words are flesh, sarx and the word rogo, which means to true. And the two Eucharistic miracles you can find even more on the website. Sokolka, or you can put Eucharistic miracles, Poland, you'll find these two places.

Sokolka and the second one is Legnica. It is the latest Eucharistic miracle or phenomena happened and recognized by the Catholic Church. Actually, I was there at the parish mission. So I can tell you also my personal experience from Legnica. When I entered the sacristy, I met one of the sisters and I said, “Oh Sister, this is the place of a miracle.”

And sister answered, “Father, this whole district of the city is a place of miracles,” for instance, she continues. “You lock the car and leave it in the evening and few hours later, suddenly it disappears.”

This is the district of miracles. Actually this is the district of Legnica, where I have learned afterwards where it is better not to go out after dark if you don't want to lose your phone.

And God chose exactly this place, not others. The most dangerous district of the city as some people would say.

And here is the chronology of the event. At the Christmas Day, 2013, during the morning mass at St. Jack's Church, Hyacinth’s church in Legnica, one of the priests unintentionally drops communion to the floor.

In accordance with current liturgical regulations. The host was placed in a vasculum or special vessel with water waiting for it to dissolve. Typically, the matter in the vasculum dissolves within two days.

In 2014, After 11 days, the pastor that I spoke with said to me that he was surprised to see that it did not dissolve and the rate discoloration appeared on its surface.

Then the Bishop of Legnica, Monsignor Stefan Cichy, was notified of what happened and he instructed the priest to wait two more weeks to see if the discoloration resulted from natural causes.

After two weeks, the white part of the host dissolved and only a red stain measuring one and a half and a half of the centimeter remained, which began to resemble a clot in appearance.

After talking with the bishop, it was decided to ask specialists to examine it. And this bishop, at that time, Stefan Cichy appointed a special commission.

It was studied in Department of Forensic Medicine in Wroclaw and in the forensic department of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, which used research methods with greater precision and sensitivity.

The head of this institution. The later one, was involved in the research. He examined the same preparations previously analyzed using special UV filters.

The research team managed to isolate fibers of human heart muscle. Again, human heart muscle. It was found in the fragmented state that characterizes organisms in agony.

I spoke with the Bishop of that place, Bishop Kiernikowski, and he said that what struck him was that it was heart in agony, heart in agony as Jesus' heart in the agony.

During the more detailed study, DNA key fragment was discovered. The materials collected gave the commission sufficient reason to conclude that we are dealing with human heart muscle.

The fragments of human muscle are closely related to the other parts of the host. In 2016, the presentation of the reports of both studies to the Holy See by the current bishop Legnica, Kiernikowski, occurred in the Holy Week 2016, The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has concluded that there is a moral and scientific certainty that a supernatural event occurred in Legnica.

The diocesan bishop received permission from the Vatican, the Dicastery to announce this news to the faithful as well as to prepare a suitable place of worship and gather information about possible graces related to the unusual Eucharistic phenomenon.

And Bishops Kiernikowski in April, 2016, made the announcement. In the same month, the members of the church commission met with the media to detail the event that took place at this church in Legnica.

If you're in Poland, I invite you to go to Legnica. When you enter this church, you feel something special. And it's amazing that this was the former Protestant church.

It was built in such a way that for the dedication of this church, they built a special chapel for a king from Germany that came for the dedication. And can you imagine that after these years there in the city, this church was taken or given to the Catholic community.

And now this Body of Christ is exactly at this chapel that was built for a king. It's amazing, and there is something special. They have also have adoration, daily adoration, which was before. But this is when you enter, and you realize that this is the body of Christ.

But at the same time, while I invite you to come to Legnica, to Poland, we can meet Jesus Christ in the whole Eucharist in this church. Here we are in front of Jesus. He's so humble. And then, when we receive him, his body becomes our body. And now we can ask ourselves some questions.

In daily life, does your wife or husband notice that you have received the body of Christ? That the body of Christ has become your body? Dear brothers and sisters, priests, do our parishioners notice that we receive the body of Christ? Do our Protestant brothers and notice that we receive Holy Communion and the body of Christ becomes our body?

Jesus wants to prolong his body in our hands, legs, minds and hearts. Pope Francis reflected on chapter six of the Gospel of John said, the Eucharist is Jesus who gives himself entirely to us to nourish ourselves with him and abide in him to holy communion.

If we do it with faith, transforms our life into a gift to God and to our brothers. It is not automatic, it is. It depends on our will if we want. Jesus. He's so delicate he invites.

I remember Father Wilson told me something had to be the first day I arrived, how it works because he said he entrusted the parish in the, to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of Mary.

And he said it works that Jesus will do it, but he needs, needs your permission. It always works like this way. Jesus needs your permission that you entrust your life to Jesus.

In conclusion, I would like to share what I heard in my seminary. Actually, seminarians listened to thousands of hours of homilies and lectures. From all these hours, one of the homilies that I remember was preached by parish priest and he said… I'm not sure if I can tell you this. If I do tell you about it, father Rector may never invite me again. So it is a risk. I don't want to scandalize you, but I heard this at the retreat at the parish mission and I think that you should also know it. And he said very powerful words.

“You can eat four pounds of the hosts in the Eucharist and never meet Jesus Christ. You can eat four pounds of hosts in the Eucharist and never meet Jesus Christ if you don't have faith.”

Now, how we receive Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist? In the Holy Communion? Do we speak with him as with a friend? He's waiting for us, to strengthen us, even when we pass close to the church. He's here. He's waiting for us. And we know that we have a friend in our life. Jesus’ name is Emmanuel.  God with us. He wants to be with us. He wants to be in our hearts. Because he is our friend. And he wants us to speak to him.  When we receive him in Holy Communion, as we speak with our friends.
