The great St. Paul experienced a "thorn in the side of his flesh" that caused him great anguish. He and all of the saints were not spared the cross of suffering, and the crisis that such suffering can produce. The second reading from this past Sunday provides St. Paul's testimony of how he found the pathway through his suffering. He went from begging the Lord to remove the thorn to boasting in his weakness because he discovered that his weakness would open the door to Christ's strength in his life.

I share my Sunday homily on St. Paul's thorn in the hopes of encouraging all who experience the thorn, in whatever form it takes.

God bless,
