Speaking God’s Word in Love

August 12, 2026

In today's reading, the Lord commands the prophet Ezekiel to eat a scroll, to literally consume God's word so that he can go and speak it. It is a strange and vivid gesture, and it points to a gift we can easily take for granted. Just as Ezekiel consumed the word to proclaim it, we are invited to receive Jesus, the Word made flesh, fully present in the Holy Eucharist, and then to live and speak that word ourselves.
